It is a well known fact that your skin is the largest organ in your body. It is also known as the “3rd kidney” as it is responsible for eliminating a vast amount of toxins from your body every day. When it functions efficiently, you can lose up to a pound or two of toxins. When it isn’t functioning efficiently, it places an extra burden on your lymphatic system and weakens your immune system.
Body Brushing or Dry Skin Brushing is a great way of helping your body to get rid of toxins and make your skin glow in the process. Brushing your body, stimulates your circulation and your lymphatic system. Dry Skin brushing also helps to keep your skin clean from toxic chemicals that are found in common soaps and body cleansers.
It’s easy to do….first, you must get some Natural Dry Brushes that are specifically designed to be used on your body. There are brushes that are very soft and specifically designed for use on your face, and then brushes that have slightly harder bristles that you would use on your back. It feels great! You will dry brush your skin BEFORE you get in the shower in the morning. Start at your feet and gently sweep up your feet, legs and arms towards your heart. At most, this routine will take 5 minutes. Initially, your skin might get red and it will feel a little rough, but over time you will find that you really enjoy this routine and your skin will literally glow!
After your shower, I recommend you use Avocado Oil on your body. I am not an advocate of most commercial lotions as they are really drying and filled with all kinds of toxic chemicals and preservatives. Simple Avocado Oil is one of the best things you can put on your body; it feels good (not oily or greasy) and is great for you!
